Meet other book people in a local book club. We read a different genre of book each month, and decide together on the next month's book. We use the book 501 Must Read Books as the source of our choices. We meet the third Thursday of each month. Come to share your opinions and observations, have something to eat and/or drink, and make new friends from the neighborhood.
This is a group for people to discuss the books they are reading and may read as little or as much as one may find the time to. Meetings can be held on Sundays in the afternoon. There are so many books out there and hundreds of authors hoping for an audience. Let's give these lonely, literary stars our attention for a few weeks or so of our time! What are all these people writing about and what for? Let's figure it out. Let's read great books or at least a few sentences; let's observe characters …
Eat. Drink. Read. is a book club for young adult readers in the DC metro area. There are many people out there who gravitate towards non-fiction. This group will meet about once every 6-8 weeks to discuss a non-fiction book. It's the MOSTLY non-fiction book club because once in a while, I feel like a little fiction.

Looking to read interesting books while meeting new people? Join us for brunch once a month in the Montgomery County area to discuss a different genre of books. Each month we will choose a book from a different genre. This is a great way to start reading books you may not normally choose. We will each talk about the books as they relate to the genre while eating delicious food and getting to know one another. We will also plan get-togethers throughout the month: happy hours, dinners, movies, and …

Meet kindred book lovers in a stimulating, coed book club! This book club already existed and has members, but we'd like to have new members join and we have continued doing so throughout the time the book club has existed- new blood and thoughts help make the book club even more interesting and diverse. The age range of the group is between the late twenties to the late 40s and one must fill out the form (I know it's a pain) and be selected by the group to join. We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. …
Tipsy readers is a group of young women that meet once a month for a couple of hours to discuss a wide variety of books over drinks (alcoholic, caffeine induced, whatever!). A few friends and I have been reading and meeting up at coffee shops and brunch spots around northern Virginia for a few months and we would like a few more people who like to read a variety of books (fiction, non-fiction, travel books, chic lit, not so much sci-fi though) while exploring fun coffee shops and brunch spots (p …

A group for writers of anything who want to meet other writers of anything and talk while eating. We'll talk about writing and not writing. We'll eat food that most writers can afford. We'll share the energy, wisdom, wit and inspiration of other writers. NOTE: This is not a writers group where writing is shared with and critiqued by the group. If members want to share their writing, they can do so on their own with members who appreciate, understand and have knowledge or interest in their genre. …
Like that old, soulful U2 rock anthem, do you sometimes find yourself singing "I still haven't found what I'm looking for," and somehow the song's sentiment connects with your spiritual journey? Perhaps you feel emotionally distant from the Christian spirituality and Sunday worship you grew up with. Curious to find out why you’re having these feelings/thoughts/disconnect? But more importantly, curious if there is a better way to think about, experiment with, and practice faith in the 21st Cen …

Based on the writing workshop model, we will meet at a cozy spot to discuss and dissect some great contemporary short stories by published authors. We’ll talk about what makes the story tick: what’s working, what isn’t, and what we can learn (or steal) for our own writing practice. Then we’ll drink a beer or a coffee or something, and have a few laughs. Join us if you're a fan of the genre or if you want to get caught up on the latest fiction, or if you're a writer yourself and want to learn fr …
